LSD / Ecstasy Help Patients Face Death according to a New York Times Article 

Lauren Slater writes of current research using psychedelics to confront fears of death for those with terminal illnesses.

Mr. Slater is author of ‘‘Opening Skinner’s Box: Great Psychological Experiments of the Twentieth Century.’’.

His New York Times article writes of present low profile research covers several psychedelic drugs like LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide), MDMA (Ecstasy) and Psilocybin reduce the anxiety of those facing certain death from terminal illnesses.

Mentioned in the article who has done related research for many years is one of my favorite transpersonal researchers, Stanislav Grof.  His work pre-dated current research in utilizing psychoactive drugs for many purposes besides facing death including  pre-natal regressions for soul recovery, ‘spiritual emergencies’ and pre-life regressions.  I’ve read all his works to great advantage and seen him speak in New York several times along with his wife Christina Grof.
